Chevrolet Car Comparisons Comparing Small Cars The Easiest Way To Understand Small Cars

Car buyers often say, “that’s all I need.” Sounds simple. Nothing is more complicated than buying a small car

Fiat 500 vs Chevrolet Matiz

This comparison's interesting. Both cars are authentic but I can't help think the Matiz was the 500 a decade before the NEW 500.

  • Both the Fiat 500 and Matiz are the same length. The Fiat 500 is significantly wider which might be a disadvantage in this market. Narrow width gives an advantage when parking side-by-side, negotiating narrow drives and old garages.

  • Although both cars look different there's striking similarity in their utilitarian, rational approach, typical of Italian design. Both cars are cheeky, chic and smart.

  • Inside the Matiz may be and certainly appears more spacious than the Fiat 500.

  • The Fiat 500 may be better to drive with its 1.2 engine but there's no material difference in economy and both come in sub-120g/km on emissions.

  • The reason the Fiat 500 is wider without being roomier is because of its side crash protection giving it a 5-Star Crash Protection NCAP rating.

  • There's little difference between these two cars but there's a massive difference in price. And if you take up Fiat 500 customising options the gap widens.

The two real differences are the Matiz is:

  1. a 5-door with easy entry and exit, and

  2. you can buy 3-years servicing and the 2nd & 3rd year AA cover for just £249.
